Feminine Rocker Girl

The summer is officially over for me, and I am now on my last semester of high school! I am not working as much as I did in the summer and my classes are pretty easy for me, so I plan to write more and take more pictures for this blog! What I am really into right now, end of summer-early fall, is a feminime, but edgy vintage look. I thought of, "What would Joan Jett wear if she was a princess?!" I love contrasting trends, ideas, colours...everything! Here are two looks that incorporate the concept.
This is a very feminine edgy princess look. The black vest contrasts too the light girly feel of the dress, which is just darling! You can dress it up, like i did with some gold glitter heels and pearls, or dress it down with some flats. I love adding pearls to outfits, and it definately goes well with this look. I would wear this outfit to a special occasion date, or my own birthday party. (:

This outfit is more casual and rocker, especially with the jeacket and barely acid wash jeans. The blouse is ultra light, and I think that's why it goes so well with these other pieces. I absolutely LOVE these wedges as well! They're so chic, and comfy! What is better than that? This outfit is perfect for a late night dinner or even a casual party.

Pretty in Lace

Oh my god! It's been AGES since i've written anything! I was just busy with school finishing up and all the good end of the year stuff lol. But today was my last day, so i'll be posting more hopefully! Well, this look was inspired by Molly Ringwald and Duckie from Pretty in Pink. I got the hat from forever 21 and i think it is just perfect for summer. you can wear it with a variety of things. Those black wedges were a steal from TJ Maxx and they are comfy! I recently got these new shorts from PAc Sun. They are denim, but faded with florals. I think the edgy shoes, and black lace colaborate well with the feminine shorts and hat. Well, summer is here and i can't wait!! That's all for now (:

Fancy That

Please forgive me, I haven't written anything in almost a week! School after spring break is busy, ugh. But anyways, while sitting in pre-calc/trig class, I was day dreaming and some how stumbled upon Marie Antoinette. I started thinking about the big hair and those extravagent dresses that not only she wore, but other woman in that era. They're actually very beautiful gowns and hair pieces...something I can see Lady Gaga wearing. I love how the gowns usually had bows on them, were feminime, and sometimes had a soft floral print on them. Here are some pictures that I thought were pretty and inspiring.
I just love that painting above. I wish we still had those sometimes. You can see the detail in the frills and bow, and how soft and delicate the women looked. It catches my fancy. Obviously, to wear a look similar to this now, it would be less frills, poof, and the dresses would not be as long. Here is a quick sketch of a dress that I find a more modern version of this era, sorry it's not the best picture!

Street Walkers

On this lovely, breezy, spring day I decided to go to downtown chicago. Besides all the stores on state street and michigan avenue that I love going to, I also enjoy watching people. I know that may sound creepy, but I swear it's not! You see some fascinating outfits and looks. Most people always notice the women who are dressed, but rarely the men. There is a quote that I absolutely love: "Clothes doesn't make a man...but it's a good start!" I think this has a lot of truth in it. This may be why women are attracted to gay men; they dress well, fix their hair, and well, take pride in how they look. I am not encouraging that guys take longer than their girlfriends to get ready, because that is just ridiculous! But, they should take maybe a little extra time on their outfits. Girlfriends will definately notice and appreciate the effort! Up there, is a couple of guys who have their own style :)

Another Manic Monday

When there is nothing to do on spring break, my only way out of boredom is to shop and then put outfits together! I went shopping again today and bought this jumper from target that is super cute...it has a BOW!! but you can't really tell in this picture =[ I also bought these red, corked heeled shoes from discovery...only 20 bucks! I love a great deal. Anyways, i wanted to give this cute onezie a bit of an edge, so i added my pleather jacket (don't wear animals!) and black tights, it is quite chilly out, to complete my look! I would also wear my juicy couture necklace along with this other long gold chain, and my louis vuitton bag.

Doctor's Orders

I don't care what people say about them. I am quite fond of Dr. Marten boots! They add a bad ass-ness to any outfit, and you can wear them in different ways. The picture above shows how you can add a little bit of colour to a rocker inspired outfit.

You can also still have a 70's hippie inspired look with these fabulous boots. A cute patterned mini skirt, boho bag, denim jacket and we're in business people. The thing i love about Dr. Martens is that they come in different colours and styles, so you are sure to find one that goes with your look. However, I do not recommend wearing these boots to a fancy occasion!

Another way I would love to wear them, when i finally buy them, is with a white, spaghetti strapped beach dress that falls right above the knee with black Dr. Martens and natural hair and make-up. The two are so contrasting, but it works out. Just add a few accessories like a braided black belt and long necklaces or bangles to make it picture perfect! :)

The Begining

Yupp, that's me up there.I have a tube top on, don't think i don't have a shirt! So, i decided to make a blog. A fashion blog to be more precise. I want this to be a place where people can feel free and inspired by anything. I plan ton post pictures not only of my outfits, but outfits that i think are worthy of praise, ad maybe even some that need a little help. A place where people can find out good shopping websites, or stores to hit up if they are visiting Chicago. I've also planned to take advantage of the wonderful things the internet can do, like having discussions or finding out trends from everywhere! I am going to France in June, and will need a place to post all the things I'll be soaking in! So here it goes; 1...2...3....blastoff!
